Director's Message... and More
Thank you!
Thanks to the 700-plus active volunteers nationwide who make the Casting for Recovery retreat programs for breast cancer survivors happen in their communities, I'm pleased to announce the season's successful conclusion with the completion of 36 retreats in the largest number of states we have ever served--25. At the end of this, our eleventh year of programs, Casting for Recovery has served nearly 3,000 women.
Our annual appeal is being mailed soon, and this year we also are pleased to offer the ability to accept online donations from those who wish to contribute to the Casting for Recovery mission. If you would like to make a financial contribution to our programs, volunteer, or learn more about CFR, please visit our Support page.
This year although almost 1,300 women applied to attend a retreat, we were only able to serve 500 because we do not have the capacity to accommodate every woman who wants and needs the life affirming opportunity that CFR provides to connect with other women who share common hopes and fears, to learn a new skill and new hope in a peaceful and natural environment.
We will continue to focus our attention on increasing our services to our volunteers and building outreach systems so that we can serve these women who need and want our program. To that end, we are calling on the assistance of all who know the positive impact that CFR can make on the lives of women.
And if you're interested in our new retreat season, we should have our Retreat Schedule posted by the end of the year.
On behalf of all of us at Casting for Recovery, we appreciate your assistance in making a difference in the lives of women with breast cancer.
Warmest wishes to all,
Seline Skoug

Thank you to the hundreds of men
and women who provide local river guidance to our participants. Many fishing
clubs and individuals join us on our Fishing Day to have fun and share their
knowledge of the local waters. Below is one happy participant from a
