Director's Message... and More
Welcome!
As we approach the year’s end, Casting
for Recovery has reached some significant milestones. As we celebrate our
ten year anniversary, we can be proud that this year we held 34 retreats in
23 states, staffed and supported by some 700 volunteers, and hosted our
first-ever Collaborative Conference, at which more than ninety volunteers,
alumni, and friends came together to learn and to celebrate our mission to
enhance the lives of breast cancer survivors by providing retreats
specifically designed to promote and support mental and physical healing.
As we approach year end we’d like to
thank our friends and supporters. The Orvis Company and the Hartford
Insurance Company continue to provide financial support and outreach across
the country. Other organizations like Smart Wool, the Colorado Cancer
League, California’s To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation; the
Vermont/New Hampshire, Louisville, Maryland, Arkansas, Columbus, Ohio and
Northern New Jersey Affiliates of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Trout
Unlimited Chapters, Oregon Fly Fishers Foundation, Federation of Fly Fishers
Councils, Sams Club, Mission Healthcare, Carson Tahoe Hospital and the Ziv
Tzedakah Fund have continued to support us nationally and in their
communities. And special thanks to to our hundreds of volunteers whose time,
effort and caring has made a difference to the thousands of women who have
been through the Casting for Recovery program since our beginnings in 1996.
You, too can become an important part of
our organization by giving us your support as we endeavor to ensure our
ability to continue our good work. Visit our Support page to find out more!
On behalf of our Board, Advisors and

Thank you to the hundreds of men
and women who provide local river guidance to our participants. Many fishing
clubs and individuals join us on our Fishing Day to have fun and share their
knowledge of the local waters. Below is one happy participant from a
Colorado retreat, being guided by a CFR River Helper! Thank you!
