Casting for Recovery Medical Facilitator Judy Macon received the Survivor of the Year Award from the 2006 Komen National Race for the Cure! Congratulations Judy!! Judy volunteers for the Mid Atlantic retreats, one of which is sponsored by the Chesapeake Women Anglers.

On River Day , May 19th, the hills and valleys of Virgina were alive with singing. laughter, fish tales and cheers for the numerous trout caught by the participants as the Chesapeake Women Anglers  in partnership with the national Casting for Recovery program, proudly hosted their sixth annual May retreat at Orkney Springs, VA. In the words of some of the participants, "this experience was out of this world....a wonderful learning, bonding, growing experience....I had a great time learning the craft and loved the people, the sport, the groups and the pampering...this was unforgettable."
