The following is a partial list of organizations that have generously assisted Casting for Recovery with the promotion and delivery of our special program for breast cancer survivors:

Fly Fishing Organizations

Numerous fly fishing organizations have generously donated their time, resources, and financial support to Casting for Recovery. We plan to highlight a few organizations each month. On behalf of all of us at CFR, we wish to thank you all!

CLUB OF THE MONTH

Northeast

The mission of the Long Island Flyrodders is to stimulate interest in fly fishing as a major sport. To improve our skills as fly fishers. To enjoy the fellowship of other fly fishers. To exchange techniques and ideas. To encourage our youth in participating in the fast growing sport of fly fishing.

The Long Island Flyrodders came into being in 1979 when a handful of dedicated fly fishermen from Long Island and Queens decided to form a club to pursue their sport. In 1985, the Long Island Flyrodders was reorganized as a structured club with corresponding by-laws, nominations and elections. During that year, The Flyrodder, the official monthly publication of the club was also launched. Today, the club consists of more than two hundred members and is, without a doubt, the leading fly fishing club in the East.

West Coast

Nearly 120 strong, the Northwest Women Flyfishers has been in existence since 1986. Advocating for healthy fisheries, educating women in the sport of fly fishing and becoming involved in the communities around us best describe our organization. NWF holds membership meetings on a monthly basis at the REI Flagship Store in Seattle, WA except during the summer when many of them are fishing. .

We also wish to acknowledge the retreat facilities which continue to enable our message and work of hope and health for breast cancer survivors:
